University lecturer, high-tech exec, management consultant, small-business owner and hot dog stand vendor, author Pat Magee has done a bit of it all; from professional adventures in Silicon Valley to personal romps through Europe, battling vacationing English and sunburned Swedes in Spain, braving the elements and staff aboard German river cruises and navigating the nuances of a slower-paced but no less entertaining life in the Mid-West, she recently debuted her Freshman collection of short stories, Fast Moving Cows and Other Tales.
Inspired in part by her adventures and derived from her practical 'Scrubby Dutch' German-Irish Mid-West roots, Magee's stories amuse, entertain and sometimes confound, leaving the reader to wonder whether the stories and characters, as odd and colorful as they are, may in fact be more rooted in reality than imagination. |
